At Luminos, we're helping children—especially those affected by poverty, conflict, and discrimination—get back to learning. Through our network of partners, we run accelerated learning programs that help children gain the equivalent of three years of education in the space of just ten months. The results have been fantastic. We've helped educate over 110,000 children, and 96% of students successfully transitioned into mainstream schooling upon graduation.

When children miss out on school, our programs give them a second chance to learn. To help them catch up, children get three years worth of schooling in just 10 months. Facilitators dedicated to their students' success provide a fun, intensive, and deep-learning environment. At the end of 10 months, children are functionally literate and can rejoin their peers in school.
How old are the children?
The children in our programs are typically between 8 and 14 years old. They re-enter school at the fourth grade level when they leave our program.
Where in Africa?
Children are out-of-school across the continent, but Luminos currently serves children in Ethiopia and Liberia. We hope to add new countries in Africa soon.
